Training & Workshops
Trainings and workshops are being organised for various stake-holder groups vital for the campaign and later in the design of monitoring systems and mitigation plans. Volunteer groups are being identified in each of the project panchayats with the help of the concerned ward members who will be trained in tidal flood monitoring and data collection. Booklets and short training videos are being developed.
Classes are being given to the District Planning Commission and the various departments of the District Administration to update them on the increasing nature of tidal floods due to sea level rises. This campaign is crucial for enlisting the State as a partner in all monitoring and mitigation plans.
Workshops for the elected representatives of the local bodies on tidal flooding are also planned.
Media sensitisation especially of the local reporters and special correspondents is underway through media workshops. The wider awareness creation on this aggravating disaster can be achieved through these print and local cable media networks.
