INSTRUCTIONS

  • Video should be of min 3 and maximum 5 minutes duration
  • Videos must include video footage or animation. Slideshows with music do not meet this requirement
  • A registered participant can submit any number of videos. We encourage you to submit entries for multiple categories.
  • The medium of communication shall be Malayalam/English.
  • Video should be product agnostic, i.e., the content should not lead to promotion of any particular product/brand/service.
  • Content from external sources can be utilised in the video, but the responsibility of doing so rests solely with the participant, and sufficient citations should be provided wherever required.
  • The video can be uploaded on any date before 15th of March 2021.
  • The video after technical screening will be uploaded on web and the number of viewership and comments will be one of the criteria for determining the award.
  • The video file size should not exceed 1 GB.
  • The upload details will be provided through your registered email address.

CRITERIA

Initial selection of videos shall be based on three criteria

# Technical Correctness   # Clarity    # Effectiveness

In all selected videos your contact reference will be given for future support unless otherwise requested.

A panel of subject experts, filmmakers, journalists and artists will evaluate the videos and announce the award in each category.  The findings of the panel shall be final. 

By entering this contest, each entrant declares the entry and the ideas therein, to be his/her original creation. Failure to comply with this may result in the disqualification of the entry submission.

  • Best lighting options for your house: (Tip: Discuss about the most suitable lighting options for the living room, bed room, kitchen, bathroom etc.…selecting from Incandescent lamp, CFL, LED, Fluorescent lamp, LED tube light etc.)
  • Best fan for your house: (Tip: Give a comparison of the conventional fans, BLDC and 5-star fans, along with Ceiling and wall fans. )
  • Best refrigerator for your house: (Tip: Compare Single door, Doubles door, No-frost refrigerators, ,need for a stabiliser and the merits/demerits of switching off refrigerator during peak hours)
  • Best Air-conditioner for your house: (Tip: Discuss selecting optimum size, temperature setting and routine maintenance etc.) 
  • Best TV for your house: (Tip: Discuss different types, their energy consumption and also the standby power)
  • Best electric water heater for your house: (Tip: Discuss  stand by loss, optimum capacity and type, compare electric and solar water heaters)
  • Best mixer/grinder for your house: (Tip: Discuss types, power   rating and the method of use)
  • Best washing machine for your house: (Tip: Discuss about front and top loading, Star label , Water consumption etc.)
  • Best Solar Water Heater for your house (Discuss different types, size and plumbing requirements)
  • Best solar PV system for your house (Discuss various types and schemes)
  • Best water pump for your house (Discuss optimum sizing, best plumbing methods, different types)
  • Disposal of kitchen waste (Discuss Bio Gas, Composting, disposal through LSG)
  • Energy in Food – Energy saving methods in Cooking, low carbon diets
  • Low energy and environment friendly solutions for washing and cleaning
  • Reducing fuel consumption in your vehicles (Discuss energy efficient driving habits, tyre pressure etc)

We encourage you to go beyond these themes. Any innovative concept can be submitted if it helps improve the efficiency of household energy consumption.
